Now, I thought I would start my first post by introducing everybody to me. So, I thought to myself, what could I talk about that would make people want to come back and read??? Well I know!! 10 things that put a huge smile on my face.
For those of you who actually know me, you know that I am a little weird and the smallest things make me laugh and can put a huge smile on my face. So here it goes, in no particular order...
1) Fresh Baked Bread
Now what could be better than going to your local bakery or the back of the store at Vons and seeing that a nice, fresh loaf of hot bread has just been put out for your eating pleasure? Umm yes please!!
2) Diet Coke!
Oh I can almost taste it right now as I type this. Something about it has sucked me in completely and I am totally addicted. Its a problem really, I'm not kidding!! But gosh does it make me smile. When I am craving it, it will instantly put me in a better mood...maybe I shouldn't have said that, it makes me sound crazy!
3) Intricate details of a story
Nothing beats a good story and what I like most are the intricate details that make that story amazing. My friends know that when you are telling me a story you better fill in every gap of that story, otherwise no thank you, I don't want to hear it. It's what makes stories exciting for me!
4) Saturdays
I heart Saturdays. For a working girl, like myself, who works Mon-Fri 9-5 in a office, looking forward to a Saturday is what makes the week go by fast. You can sleep in, go to the beach (for us Californians ;), do absolutely nothing, go out with friends and not feel guilty that you haven't done your 6 loads of laundry or cleaned your apartment because guess what??? you still have another weekend day to do that. Yes!!!
5) Costco
You tell me where else can I go and get all this in one stop: Print out pictures, have a doctor check my eyes and give me a prescription, get a guitar, refrigerator, gossip magazine, shirt, new towels, the latest movie on DVD, fresh baked bread, dinner for the night, food to feed 25 people at one time, toilet paper that you will be using for months to come, gasoline for my car and a passport photo???? Umm I will tell you where I can get all that stuff in one afternoon...COSTCO!!
6) Board Games
I love having "game night" with my friends. I love them all especially Scattergories and Balderdash. Have you ever played Balderdash??? What other game lets you say the most ridiculous things and get away with it.
7) Singing Karaoke
A drunk man at the "local" karaoke place said these kind words to me after a performance I did, "You are such a performer up there but you definitely need to work on the vocals!" That defines me as a karaoke singer. Great stage presence but a terrible voice. Guess what the voice doesn't matter to a crowd of drunken crazies, they like the intensity and man do I bring that. Take a look at this shot!
8) Ruby (my new bulldog)
Ruby is the latest edition to my family and we love her to death. Last year we lost our very first bulldog, Princess, and it was sooo hard on us. She had so much personality and she was really part of our family. Well for my Dad's birthday in November, my older brother decided to surprise my dad, and all of us really, with this cute little bulldog, which we decided to name Ruby. I am sure my future blogs will have plenty of pictures and stories of the crazy shenanigans that Ruby gets into....trust me every day there is some kind of crazy story about what she did that day.
9) My Crazy, Amazing, Wonderful Friends!
My friends are amazing! I love them to death! They are the people that love me and all my crazy quirks because they are just as crazy as me!
10) Last, and certaintly not least, MY FAMILY!!
My family has made me who I am today and I thank them for that. They mean so much to me and even though, they can sometimes drive me a little nuts, I will always love them!!
There are just so many things that can make me smile, but I couldn't list them all otherwise we would be here for days! But, I did want to share a few of them with all of you...until next time
